FAQS
Frequently Asked Questions
Here are answers to our most frequently asked questions:
Clever isn’t a “custom builder”—and that’s a good thing. We focus on building the most efficient, high-quality, cost-effective homes possible, which is why we standardize our core designs. Standardization keeps pricing predictable, production fast, and quality consistent—so you get a beautifully designed home without delays or surprise costs. It also lets us buy proven materials at scale, helping us secure better pricing and pass those savings on to you. The result: a stunning, well-designed home, without the hassle of custom-build complexities.
That said, you still have flexibility:
- Delete items you don’t want (murphy bed, tile, kitchen, etc.)
- Choose from curated luxuary options (heated floors, dishwasher, solar power and more)
- Personalize anytime after delivery—remodel and update it just like a standard home
You could if you wanted to, but you’d need a truck rated to bumper-pull at least 14,000 lbs. Most buyers choose professional delivery instead, since experienced transporters handle permits, routing, and setup efficiently. It’s usually the simpler option.
Yes, just not in the traditional showroom sense. We don’t operate permanent model homes in every state. We’re a high-volume production builder, delivering 3–4 homes each week across all 50 states.
Instead, we connect you with real Clever homeowners who are open to sharing their setup, answering questions, and talking honestly about their experience.
If an in-person visit isn’t possible, we can also set up a Zoom walkthrough of a completed home or a live factory tour.
You choose what works best for you.
Yes! We offer comprehensive off-grid packages that include solar panels, battery storage, and water systems. Our off-grid solutions are designed to provide complete independence from traditional utilities while maintaining all the comforts of home.
Many of our customers successfully use their Clever Tiny Homes as Airbnb rentals. Our homes are built to meet RVIA (RV Industry Association) standards, making them eligible for placement in many locations. However, local regulations vary, so we recommend checking with your local zoning department about short-term rental regulations in your area.
Our tiny homes are designed for easy utility connections. They come pre-wired for 30/50 amp electrical service and pre-plumbed for water and sewer connections. You can connect to traditional utilities or opt for our off-grid packages. Our team can guide you through the connection process for your specific setup.
Yes, and that is part of Clever's productized approach to building homes. We refine each model continuously, so newer builds reflect improvements we've made from the ones before. The home you receive is the current spec at the time of your build, documented in your build agreement. Photos and videos in our marketing may show earlier builds, so small details can vary from what's currently in production.
We work with several financing partners who specialize in tiny home loans. Options include personal loans, RV loans, and specialized tiny home financing. Visit our financing page to learn more about available options, or book a consultation with our team to discuss what works best for your situation.
Yes.
